About Culford Collective
Culford Collective is a space where early career creatives in the performing arts can connect, share work in progress & get their creative juices flowing. We run free weekly meet-ups every Tuesday at 7pm on Zoom (get in touch if you’d like to come along) & are planning a series of workshops for 2022 (follow us on Instagram for updates).
We founded Culford Collective in 2019, as a way of breaking the cycle of isolation that comes with being a freelancer. The first meetup was held in Scarlett’s living room, where a group of creatives gathered to discuss their work, eat pizza, and drink some cheap prosecco.
The meet-ups developed into a weekly event where creatives of all kinds could come together to share work-in-progress, connect & get feedback and support. We discuss industry experiences, share resources for finding jobs and training opportunities, and collaborate. Six months in, the demands of the Covid-19 pandemic forced meetings onto Zoom. Despite this, the Collective has continued to thrive, providing creatives with a valuable outlet during a time of isolation and uncertainty. Our community is now made up of early career artists from across the UK, and has grown to include members in Canada, Germany and Spain.
